I am honoured to have contributed to Anthony Lawson’s new short doc. ‘BBC Bias: The Gaza Freedom Flotilla’, spread this far and wide.

Yeah saw that shit from the zioNAZI spokes-slug calling you a terrorist trainer in waiting . . . pleeeeezzzzeee !!!!. They must think the average human is a braindead-survivor-amerikas-got-talent-oprah-watching fukwit. NOT SO !!. . .see them and their fellow travellers for exactly the pieces of shit they are. Saw the bbc hit piece on TVNZ’s Sunday programme. . .Was apoplectic with rage especially the end bit talking about the out of date medications as a cause to stir shit !! out of date usually means nothing. . .its big pharmas way of making you throw away perfectly good stuff and buy more.
Keep your head high – You are a true human being.

In the September 2010 edition of Australia/Israel Review, there is an interview with Ron Ben Yishai – a gentleman who is described as a (the?) “leading Israeli war correspondent”. Most of it is about Hezbollah, the Goldstone Report, etc., but it concludes with some comments about the Freedom Flotilla. This is the third-to-last paragraph:
He [Ben Yishai] described the shooting of the second Israeli soldier to land on the ship, who was severely wounded. “He was five seconds behind the first soldier,” but was already shot, “so they did not have time to snatch the gun off the first soldier and use it against him. Which means he was shot by someone who had a weapon and was ready for him.”
This allegation was new to me. Has anyone else previously heard it? If it is not a recent invention, why wasn’t it mentioned in the first reports of the incident and in Corbin’s documentary? After all, it is the stuff of screaming headlines.

first i’d heard of this either. the more you see (looks of terror in the eyes of the “elite commandoes”) as they are led, disarmed and wounded, to below decks on the Marvi the myth of the invincible i.d.f.’s superiority is exposed for all to see. Shooting unarmed civilian protesters, teenagers throwing stones, etc., etc., has made them real “he-men” – “legends in their own lunchtimes” . . that is until they actually have to go up against someone who can SHOOT BACK (Hezbollah).

Further to my previous comment, here is what the September edition of Australia/Israel Review has to say about the Panorama documentary:
However, there now seems to be little need for any of these inquiries [into the Freedom Flotilla] because a neutral source, which cannot be accused of pro-Israel bias, has already essentially validated that the Israeli account of the flotilla incident is largely true. The BBC’s venerable “Panorama” investigative program screened a 30-minute documentary on the incident on Aug. 16. Presenter Jane Corbin found that there was no shortage of medicine or food in Gaza, that the Turkish Government supports Hamas, that the flotilla’s IHH organisers “invited fellow Islamists from across the Arab world” to participate, that there was a premeditated IHH plan to try to throw any Israelis [sic] soldiers encountered into the sea, and that many of those who participated in the violence hoped to die as martyrs. Moreover, overall, “the bid to break the naval blockade wasn’t really about bringing aid to Gaza” and that much of the aid brought is now sitting in a Gaza warehouse, while “two thirds of the medicines are out of date and useless.” It’s well worth watching for anyone who wants to know what really happened…

The Australia/Israel Review has sacrificed its integrity by exposing its unquestioning agreement with a Panorama program that is by now completely and totally discredited and ultimately seen for the blatant propaganda that it is.

I have been following Australia/Israel Review, off and on, since the mid-1980s, and can assure you it has never had any integrity. It ran with Joan Peters’ book, From Time Immemorial, until Norman Finkelstein exposed this monumental work as a scholarly hoax. In more recent times, it has assiduously peddled the lie that life is great in Gaza.

I thought your criticism of BBC was just nonsense. My most trusted source of international news could not be that biased.
Then this weekend BBC World showed the Panorama “Documentary”. I was wrong, you were right. The whole program was just ridiculous. It’s like it was made by the IDF spokespersons office.
I hope this was just a mistake, and that the BBC owns up to their mistake given a little time. Right now I feel like they have betrayed my trust in them. I hope they can prove worthy of my trust in the future.
Keep up the good work Ken.

Well Tore I am happy to see that you too can see the obvious, the program was a horrendous piece of propaganda. Unfortunately there are probably 1.5 million dead Iraqi’s who also have the BBC to thank for its critical role in justifying the invasion. Nonetheless we must take control of the media and propagate the truth or we will destroy ourselves. The stake could not be any higher.

I only had CNN at that time. It was ironically replaced by BBC World due to the Low standards of CNNs journalism. As for the Iraq war, my impression was that most of the English speaking media were in some way contributing to the Invasion. The US media especially seemed to work as a mouthpiece for those who favored an invasion.

Thanks for posting this. There were things that Mr Lawson points out that I had previously completely missed out on.
What i want to know is what is in it for Jane Corbin? I mean, you know, maybe she had pressure from up top to do a biassed report but she seemed very comfortable with it.
And that lovely question at the top: “Did Israel just fall into a trap?”
That is some serious spin-doctoring to try and give this incident a “Israel is just a victim” slant.
How on earth did you resist smacking her in the nose?

I see that Mark Humphrys alleges, at http://markhumphrys.com/free.gaza.html , that “Some passengers grabbed pistols from the IDF soldiers and opened fire.” Interestingly, in his list of “Israeli soldiers’ injuries”, Humphrys doesn’t mention the allegation, made almost everywhere else, that one of the soldiers was stabbed. (In a letter to the editor of my paper, the Manawatu Standard, Eileen Zinsli even claimed that the “stabbed” soldier was disembowelled. See http://tinyurl.com/252leld for my reply.)

I would like to contact Anthony Lawson please.
I too am interested in defiling the BBC report but I would like to do it in a more film maker type way and I would like to amalgamate our talents. If he is not into that I would just like to ask him a few technical questions
I have interviewed Jerry and Ahmed the Australians on board the ship who spoke quite highly of you.
I have no idea how to contact him.
Keep up the good work.
