OFCOM HAS REVOKED Press TV Limited’s Television Licensable Content Service licence. It means that the British public can no longer watch Press TV on BSkyB’s Sky platform. Press TV International has released the following statement:
The British government’s media regulatory body, Ofcom, has banned Press TV’s broadcast in the UK and removed the channel from the Sky platform without responding to a letter sent from Press TV’s CEO to Ofcom’s chief executive earlier this month.
This after Ofcom fined Press TV Limited in London a hundred thousand pounds for the channel’s airing of a 10-second news clip. At the same time, Ofcom made moves to revoke the license of Press TV Limited in the UK for what it called Press TV Limited’s lack of control over the channel’s broadcast. We asked Ofcom, if Press TV Limited did not have control over the broadcast, why was it getting fined; if it did have control, why would the license be revoked?
Ofcom’s contradictions are nothing new for Press TV. The British government’s tool to control the media has on several occasions changed its decisions regarding Press TV in its two-year campaign against the alternative news channel.
In response to Press TV’s complaints about Ofcom’s subservience to the British government and the monarchy, which have been a focus of Press TV’s critical coverage in recent years, Ofcom claims it is not a government organization. But there is every indication that it is. It gets both its authority and funding from the British government. Ofcom was created by an Act of Parliament and gets most of its funding from governmental grant-in-aid. Britain’s Office for National Statistics has also said Ofcom must be classified as a central government unit.
As a news channel broadcast in the UK, Press TV has shed more light on the British government’s domestic and foreign policies. It has aired critical views regarding Britain’s involvement in wars of aggression in Iraq and Afghanistan. It has also shown the close ties between the British Royal family and UK-founded monarchies in the Persian Gulf region, including the autocratic regimes in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, which have been oppressing their people for decades. Press TV has also provided critical coverage of the extravagant costs of Britain’s Royal Wedding at a time of great financial difficulty for ordinary Britons. The channel covered the 2011 unrest in Britain and the heavy-handed police crackdown, drawing the resentment of London’s ruling establishment.
Wikileaks cables have revealed that London and Washington are exploring ways to construct a case to silence Press TV. And, Ofcom, the media arm of the Royal family, exhausted all efforts to put an end to Press TV’s broadcasting in the UK. But it fails to grasp the reality of mass communication in the modern era and the impossibility of containing the flow of information. Press TV will do everything possible to make sure that its voice will definitely reach its audience in the UK.

When Human Rights Become Subordinate to “The Law”, Fuck “The Law” – Why Dale Farm Matters
The prostitutes of propaganda (POPs), otherwise known as the mainstream media, would have you believe that the Irish Traveler residents of Dale Farm are nothing more than miscreants who expect special favours when it comes to the law. For those who know nothing of Dale Farm, here is a very abbreviated history.
Dale Farm’s residents are Irish Travelers, many identify them as Gypsies, whatever one might wish to call them they are a people who do not fit neatly into the brainwashed consumer culture, to the contrary they are a sort of people that are impossible to tame. This trait and their Irish roots attracts me to them. I love free spirits, I am myself a free spirit, so I relate to anyone who would rather die with self-respect and honour rather than capitulate to the tyrants and their minions and live a domesticated, capitalistic, consumer life.
Well those living on Dale Farm are like all travelers and Gypsies in the UK and pretty much everywhere else. They are pushed to the margins of society, they are discriminated against and often times they are scapegoated by governments and the POPs. They are soft targets if you like, Hitler didn’t like them either, they have been historically persecuted and if you possess the capacity to empathise then you will understand the healthy dose of mistrust and anger many of the travelers feel towards society at large.
In short, the travelers get fucked left right and centre and have been for a long, long time. You could
very well compare them to black people, the Irish as a whole, immigrants of all sorts, because just about every group of people who are subjected to gross injustice will lash out in one form or another. And when the oppressed do lash out or resist oppression the powers that be and the POPs will of course seize the opportunity, excuse themselves of their corruption and crimes, and scapegoat the targeted underclass of the day. This is a pattern that has been employed with great success for centuries, millennia actually. The targets change, but the pattern continues.
The greatest utility of the scapegoating tactic, from the tyrants point of view, is that it feeds the divide and rule agenda. Get the working class, the wage slaves of today and the all out slaves of past fighting each other and convince them that the other guy is stealing food from your table.
And so it goes, the Irish Travelers of Dale Farm are the latest targets.
The official version of their story is they purchased “Greenbelt land” (land designated as non-build land as protection against urban sprawl) and proceeded to move onto the land with no respect for the law, laws that require them to submit a planning application to the local council in order for them to get approval to live on the land. Problem is that nearly every planning application submitted by travelers across the UK is promptly rejected.
Ah but this has nothing to do with racism, nah, this is just a simple matter of the law. After all, why would the servile, corrupt and greedy little minions of the government and the POPs feed into racism or marginalize undesirables?
So let’s get this straight, the political puppets in government, whether in the UK, Europe or USA,
continue to give a blank cheque and moral cover for farcical, criminal wars and crimes against humanity, fighting some ridiculous, invisible and non-existent bogeymen, and to top that off these same traitors just gave the bankers trillions, not billions, trillions… because they were “too big to fail”. These political puppet minions, servile traitors, whipping boys for the rich and powerful, just gave those same powers that be, the worst scum within our society, trillions. So the most corrupt and pathetic gave the most ruthless, most pompous, arrogant, self-absorbed and entitled bunch of pricks, the richest of the rich already, trillions… and now they are telling you and I about the millions it will cost to make over 80 families of Dale Farm homeless… because they bought Greenbelt land and built on it!
Ah but it gets better, here are a couple of facts not so hyped by the POPs;
- The land the travelers bought was being used as a scrap yard when they bought it, the previous owner affirms this and the counsel themselves had a hard court laid over the field. This same council (Basildon Council) now says this is “Greenbelt land” in pure Orwellian doublespeak fashion.
- Counsels around the UK are compelled by law to set aside land that can be accessed by travelers so as to avoid issues like the pending eviction of over 80 families at Dale Farm. Problem is a pitiful minority of counsels comply with the law so the amount of land accessible by the travelers is paltry and insufficient.
So when it comes to the law the councils are totally fine with turning “Greenbelt land” into a scrap yard, when it suits them of course, but when it comes to setting aside land for travelers in accordance to the law, well that is a different matter. Hypocrisy and corruption, same old story, time to call in the POPs. Time to con the peasant wage slaves into believing that the travelers are the problem, that our financial woes are part and parcel to the travelers disrespect for the law.
It is pathetic and as I get ready to head to Dale Farm and live there until the next period of potential eviction, I feel honoured. I am genuinely honoured to be welcome on Dale Farm, the people there remind me of another people I know, the Palestinians. Both of them are facing racist, corrupt and violent powers, both of them refuse to bow to their oppressor. I love them both for this.
In fairness I will acknowledge that some travelers/Gypsies, not all, can make quite nightmarish neighbors. Years ago I myself have had property stolen from Gypsies and have had a bottle thrown at me head by one of them. But I understand their rage, their fuck off attitude to the “settled” population. We are the ones who have sat by and given cover for the governments right and left to shit on them. We don’t care nothing for human rights, we care about property values. We have no sense of community, we willingly live in a dog eat dog world.
The travelers have a community, downtrodden as it may be, and I respect that. Their mistrust and quite
frankly, their anger towards society at large, is from my view totally understandable. Nonetheless, if I were to be asked by them for my opinion I would encourage them to establish that their cause is every working class person’s cause. I would encourage them to take their anger, channel it effectively, and expose the government for the craven minions they are. But you know what, they are pretty much doing that already.
And so it is I am on my way to Dale Farm, from what I know the residents have invited all people of good will to join them. I reckon that if enough good people do come down, we can force the government to stick their tales between their legs and cower off.
Let us realise more and more the Dale Farm struggle is connected to all just struggles, including Palestine. A victory for the people of Dale Farm is a victory for all people who love truth and justice. Sometimes the little battles have great importance, I think Dale Farm is one such battle, and so I head there with optimism and conviction.

BBC Panorama ‘Death in the Med’ is 100% Zionist Propaganda

An absolute joy to read. I will be spreading this enthusiastically and look forward to seeing how many of the “journalists” at the BBC manage to report the truth about their disgusting propaganda piece. A better world has no room for such trash, and since those at the helm of the BBC have made it their choice to serve invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan and the ongoing occupation of Palestine, I look forward to their inevitable downfall… or takeover by people who actually honour the responsibilities inherent in genuine journalism. One way or the other, the truth will indeed set us free from the propaganda as only the BBC can deliver.

I would refer to the ‘consolidated appeal’ procedure which Michael Fadda, Editorial Assistant to the BBC Trust, has described in his email of 3rd December. This was in response to Richard Lightbown’s complaint of 24th August that the Panorama programme, Death on the Med’, was biased and lacking in impartiality. The procedure described by Mr Fadda is Byzantine and the process so drawn out as to make any final BBC decision, apparently due in April, meaningless.
It has become increasingly clear that the programme was a whitewash of the truth and represents a nadir of the consistent bias displayed by the BBC in its reporting of the Palestine/Israel situation.
This lack of impartiality was confirmed by John Pilger who told us on the Today programme (on 10/12/10) that the BBC had failed to report the UNHRC report on the Mavi Marmara affair on its main news channels – censorship by omission.
The report of the fact-finding mission of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on the Israeli attack on the Gaza flotilla was released on 27/9/10. It is revealing and damning and should have been the subject of much publicity; it shows conclusively that US citizen Furkan Dogan and five Turkish citizens were murdered ‘execution-style by Israeli commandos’.
The report states that both activists and journalists on board the flotilla were treated in a cruel and inhuman way and confirms that cameras, laptops, mobiles, passports, credit cards and cash were stolen by the IDF. As John Pilger stated, war crimes were found to have been committed and the report recommends that there is a clear case for prosecution for wilful killing etc – *see extracts from the report shown below.
This Mission report gives unquestionable evidence that ‘Death on the Med’ was a travesty of truth. The BBC should now make an unreserved apology and offer the resignation of the Director General. Under the watch of the current DG the BBC has increasingly shown bias and lack of impartiality in their reporting of the Palestinian/Israeli situation. The BBC appears to be in thrall to Israel – as is much of the American media – it is understood that the UN Mission report did not appear in any US media whatsoever.
The Israeli military and its government have again behaved in flagrant contravention of the Geneva Conventions and should be regarded as a rogue state. For the UK to seek to protect members of the Israeli government from international law procedures – as they are attempting to do on 13th December by tampering with Universal Jurisdiction – makes them complicit in Israel’s serial wrongdoing, as does also the moral support they give in avowing that they are ‘Friends of Israel’
The UK government would be well advised to read the attached UN Mission report, and then to rethink that friendship and their whole policy towards the Middle East.

Perhaps the most shocking testimony, after that relating to the violence on the Mavi Marmara, was the consistent accounts of a number of incidents of extreme and unprovoked violence perpetrated by uniformed Israeli personnel upon certain passengers during the processing procedures inside the terminal at Ben Gurion International Airport on the day of deportation. These accounts were so consistent and vivid as to be beyond question.

An Open Letter to BBC Panorama’s Jane Corbin
Aloha Jane,
As you know Panorama aired ‘Death in the Med’ this week. Well Jane, I have been in the media game long enough to know that moral depravity and lack of integrity are qualities that are rewarded rather than discouraged in your field of work. With such experience it is impossible for me to take commitments from someone like yourself seriously, and that is why I recorded our conversation clandestinely, a conversation in which you confirmed the agreement that was made between the BBC and myself with yourself and Alys as BBC representatives. In that agreement it was clear that I would agree to the interview if only you included the fact that we let the commandos go. Knowing that was the agreement and anticipating that I was going to confirm it once more after the interview you said;
“Well its the point about we didn’t kill the commandos, we had them in… that will be in there don’t worry. (laughing) That’s, that is important for us because obviously they would say they felt their lives were in danger, to which the corollary is, well their lives could have been in danger but we let them go. I think that’s a very strong point.”
So, instead of your team honouring its commitment to me, you instead aired a farcical report with multitudes of half-truths, lies, omissions and importantly, Israeli commandos who escaped rather than being set free. Let us be frank Jane, the reason for that is because it is impossible to square the whole angle that we are “terrorists” and extremists” and killers, if we let them go. It just doesn’t fit. So for BBC in this case, when the facts do not work, you lie. In an attempt to justify this, the BBC has written an insulting letter in defence of your fallacious fairytale; this is due to the torrent of complaints that have resulted from Death in the Med.
I mean what I say here Jane, I feel sorry for you. From what I can tell you do pretty well for yourself financially. BBC lauded you as one of its top journalists and no doubt you have the respect of many influential people, but when you get right down to it, you have become nothing but a propagandist. I would be willing to bet it did not start out that way, I am sure that when you were starting off the idea of selling your soul for the purpose of justifying murder with Orwellian skill was not in the plans. But somehow you have reached this point, and unless you decide to commit career suicide and admit your true role and the pressures that made you what you are today, you will die with the accolades from the powers that be, but your integrity will have died long before. I mean it Jane, I feel for you and hope you find the strength to do the right thing.
I do not expect a response from you, anymore than I expected you to honour your commitment to me, or more importantly, honour the tenants of the profession we call journalism. But if you can speak the truth, I would be happy to get a response from you.
In parting Jane, nine people were murdered on that ship, 8 of them were fathers, the youngest was aiming to become a doctor. The were on that ship for the same reason I was, to help the people of Gaza, people that include over 800,000 children, innocent children. The world largely sees them as bright lights and humanitarians and your program will have done nothing to erase that, instead you have tarnished yourself and the BBC all the more. Deep down Jane this is the truth, programs like that give the insanity of blockading and bombing and otherwise terrorising innocent people more time, what you are doing in literal effect is aiding and abetting mass-murder. I could not say that but for the fact that you know as well as I, that you and your Israeli producer, Israel Goldvicht, went out of your way to produce some first class propaganda for the Zionist project known as Israel. To be blunt, I hope what is left of your conscience pains you to such a degree that the only way to relieve the pressure is to come clean. Not only will you benefit in ways that money can never provide, but you will do a service to the innocent people you currently condemn to further outrage.
It is up to you Jane, make no mistake, there are insiders within the BBC who are so disgusted with what you have done, they are making their moves from within the BBC because the benefits of prostituting themselves has finally reached its breaking point. Think about where you stand, think about the world your children will inherit, think about your legacy, and then act with your heart. That is my advice to you. Either way I wish you the best Jane, I am sorry that I lied by recording you without your knowledge; I do not like doing such things.
